Lessons & practice
Start with one session, not a package. Book a bay, spend an hour with a coach, and find out what your swing is actually doing before you commit to changing it.
Book a swing evaluation
An hour in a bay with one of the coaches below. The simulator measures every shot — ball speed, launch, spin, where it actually went rather than where you thought it went — and the coach reads it back to you and picks the one or two changes worth making. You leave with something specific to work on. You are not signed up to anything.
Contact a coach directly to arrange a time, then book the bay here. If you would rather not pick one cold, tell us what you are after and we will point you at the one who fits.
What a first session looks like
You are in an enclosed bay, indoors, with a door and a screen — not on a range with a queue behind you. Bring your own clubs if you have them; rental sets are $15 at Lakeville and balls are included. You hit, the system records, the coach talks. That is the hour.
How long a session runs, whether the coach films your swing, and whether you leave with your numbers is each coach's own call rather than a house rule — ask whoever you write to. They will not mind; it is the first thing everyone asks.
Ways to work on it
- A swing evaluation
- One session. You hit balls, the launch monitor records every one of them, and a coach tells you the two things worth changing. No package, no plan, no commitment. This is the right place to start if you are not sure lessons are for you.
- One-to-one lessons
- Ongoing work with the same coach. Best if you have a specific problem — a slice, a short game, a handicap that has not moved in three years.
- Group lessons
- Two to four of you with one coach. Cheaper per person, and less exposing than being watched alone if that is what has been putting you off.
- Beginners and kids
- From "I have never held a club". Nobody is watching, nobody is waiting behind you, and the simulator does not care how many you take.
What it costs
Each coach sets their own rate and quotes it themselves — there is no house price list, which is why you will not find one here. Ask whichever coach you like the look of, or send the form below and we will get you a number back. Asking two of them is fine, and nobody will mind.
Worth asking at the same time: whether the bay time is part of what they quote you or booked separately. It is a one-line question and it saves a surprise.
The coaches
Four independent instructors teach at Lakeville. They are not employees — you contact them directly, agree a time, and they teach in our bays. Pick whoever fits; if you are not sure, email any of them and say so.

Not sure which coach to ask?
Tell us who it is for and roughly what you want out of it. We will point you at the coach who fits and come back with a price. No commitment, and nobody will ask about your handicap.
Just want to hit balls
You do not need a coach to use a bay. Book an hour, choose the practice range instead of a course, and work through a bucket while the launch monitor tells you what each one did. It is indoors, so February is the same as June.
If you practise regularly, prepaid Links Hour Packages work out cheaper per hour than walking in.
Book the bay
Arrange the time with your coach, then reserve the hour here. Or book a practice hour on your own and start there. Still deciding? Ask us about lessons and we will come back to you.
