Two-person scramble against the field, handicapped, over 18 holes — eight weeks of regular season and two of playoffs. League members take 10% off the menu.
A scramble is the friendliest format there is: you both hit, you take the better ball and go again from there. Handicaps level the field, so nobody has to card a bad hole on their own.

Two-person team best ball, played head to head against another team over 18 holes — handicapped, so the match stays close whoever turns up. League members take 10% off the menu.
You play your own ball and the team takes the better score, so there is always a partner covering the hole you would rather forget. Handicaps do the levelling, and no handicap yet is not a problem.

Two-person team match play, team against team over 18 holes, handicapped so a first-timer and a scratch player can have a genuinely tight night. League members take 10% off the menu.
Match play is scored hole by hole rather than over the whole round, so one bad hole costs you that hole and nothing more. Handicaps set the strokes, and a rough start is forgotten by the next tee.
