Buying for a golfer, and you are not one

They do not have to be good
A bay is booked by the hour and the difficulty is a setting. Someone who has never held a club has a decent night; so does a single-figure handicap.
They pick the night
A bay is booked by the hour, so it fits a Tuesday evening as easily as a Saturday afternoon. Nothing has to be scheduled at the point you buy it.
It works in February
Which is the point. An outdoor golf gift bought in December is a gift they cannot open for four months.

The details

Four questions a buyer reasonably asks that the venue does not publish answers to. We are not going to guess at any of them with your money on the line, so here they are, marked. Either venue will answer them on the phone — the numbers are on the contact page.

Denominations

Not yet set

Whether you choose the amount or pick from a fixed set, and whether there is a minimum, is not published anywhere the venue controls.

Food and drink, or bay time only

Not yet set

Nothing the venue publishes says either way, and it is the first thing the person opening it will try to do with it. Worth a phone call before you buy if a meal is part of the present.

How it arrives

Not yet set

Whether the card comes by email, how quickly, and whether it can be used the same day is not published — which is the whole question if you are buying on 23 December.

Works at both venues

Not yet set

Lakeville and Stillwater run separate booking accounts, and whether one card is good at both has never been stated. If the golfer is a Stillwater one, ask us first.

If it is November or December

Winter is the season this whole business exists for — league nights, work parties, and no golf outdoors. If you are giving one as a Christmas present, suggest they put the date in as soon as they have one, rather than leaving it until a Saturday in February happens to be free.

Planning a work party rather than a present? Events and parties is the page you want.

Or just bring them

A bay is priced by the hour, not the head. Book one and take them with you — cheaper than most presents and you get to come too.
